The Arts and medical humanities program was created by SFR Création and SFR Santé-Société. This project in applied research was born of the co-construction of artistic and research projects, with the medical field and especially Grenoble hospital centre (CHU), like, for example, theatrical practice workshops with medical students or patients (particularly in oncology). Its originality resides in its objective to understand the impact of performing arts practice on both the body under medical treatment and the medical profession itself. It does not focus only on the anatomic body, but also on the expressive or performative body, in the contexte of a wider reflection about humanism as a form of treatment. Starting with this project, the program opens on an aesthetic, ethical and pluridisciplinary reflection concerning the questionings which link arts and the medico-social world.
